Our Committees

Ways & Means Committee

The AAP has a Ways and Means Committee that is charged with reviewing and making recommendations for the budget. Because the raising of revenue is vital to carrying out operations from doing various assistance programs and community missions, such a committee is tasked with finding the ways and means with which to raise that revenue.

American Historical Collection

There is a special committee that manages the American Historical Collection (AHC). Historical conservation is an important mission of the AAP as it safeguards the valuable collection of over 60,000 volumes of rare books, old photographs, and historical documents that documented the rich historical American presence in the Philippines. The AHC is currently housed at the Ateneo de Manila University's Rizal Library.

Arts and Culture Committee

The Arts and Culture Committee plans, organizes and sets up all the important arts and cultural initiatives. It has always been the mission of the AAP to promote the best of American culture to the Philippines and foster goodwill and friendship between both countries.

The Auditing Committee provides oversight of the financial and audit reporting processes as well as the AAP's system of budget controls and compliance with existing by-laws and audit regulations as prescribed by law. They ensure that all outlays and other financial transactions won't go beyond budget.

The Digital Media & Technology Committee provides leadership, planning, and coordination for AAP's digital media and technology needs and requirements (computing, information technology, networking and online marketing). Their knowledge and know-how ensures that the AAP is up-to-date with the latest technological trends in reaching out to as many people as possible in this social media age.

Environmental Committee

The Environmental Committee is the AAP's advisory body and action committee that engages the community and the general public in environmental and sustainable issues. It also takes charge in initiatives that encourages Filipinos to take action in key environmental issues affecting everyone.

Events Committee

The Events Committee plans and organizes all the key AAP events all year long including the Annual Memorial Day Weekend, the Annual George Washington Charity Gala, and the AAP Charity Fundraising Dinner. All the organized events are crucial part of our fundraising, membership and publicity efforts to expand our reach to the community and the general public.

The Finance Committee manages and diversifies the AAP's sources of funds. This committee assures the appropriate allocation of funds and resources for major activities and initiatives. The committee works directly with the Auditing Committee.

The Health Committee plans, organizes, and conducts medical and dental missions all over the Philippines. The AAP sponsors medical missions that provide essential medical services to various communities. In partnership with Filipino and American medical professionals, these services include free consultations and administration of dental and medical treatments.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee monitors all aspects of membership: retention, education, and engagement. The committee also assists in providing membership recruitment strategies that would help spread the word of AAP's core mission to Filipinos, Americans, and Filipino-Americans alike.

The Rare Blood Committee searches and records rare blood types in the Philippines. This eases the search for rare blood types in hospitals and other medical centers. In close partnership with renowned hospitals and medical institutions, the AAP assists in the blood donation and transfer process.
